Jam factory

When we bought this house there were a few wonderful fruit trees in the backyard; two orange, a lemon, a peach ( which has since died) and a very productive apricot. I have over the last few years just given away bags and bags of apricots to friends and to family. However, last year I decided to start making jam. And make jam I did! Lots of it . . . strawberry, peach and apricot. I really found it to be relaxing and rewarding. The idea of doing something so old fashioned really appealed to me. In fact I have even considered canning tomatoes. : ) This year, so far, I have only made apricot jam. Don't worry though Kris, I will make you some strawberry : ) I wanted to share some pictures with you of the loaded tree and the jam factory in action : )

Biker Boys

When Jake got home from camp he found that we had bought him a new Honda 100. He was riding a Honda 70 that we sold to a friend of ours. Luke has also moved up from a play quad to a real motorcycle. He is now riding Jake's old Yamaha 50, but he is using training wheels. After they got there new bikes we went camping in Stoneyford with the family that bought Jake's old bike. Luke had such a great time on his new bike and so did Jake.

Welcome back camper!

Well, OK so it has been a month since Jake has returned from Camp : ) We have been so busy this summer I haven't had time to post. I hope to get you all caught up.
Jake had such a great time at camp. He won a 3rd place ribbon in physical fitness,2nd place in art and 1st place in swimming! ~ Yea Jake ~ He made a lot of new friends and can not wait to go back next year. He says his favorite thing to do at camp was rifles. ( No worries they are BB guns )
