End of year performances

Well, we have come to that magical time of year with school coming to a close and summer vacation just around the corner. Over the last week, both boys have had performances at their schools. Luke's preschool class performed several songs for us parents, ranging from Jesus Loves Me to Slippery Fish. Luke loved to sing This Little Light of Mine. He sang it over and over and over again : )

Luke was such a ham; he certainly had a great time singing all the great songs he learned.

During our performance, Miss Pat the children's "bible story teacher" was given a gift from all of the students. The children gave Miss Pat three plates decorated by them. The three plates had the verses " Jesus Loves me" "This I know" "For Miss Pat told me so" It was so sweet! Miss Pat is retiring from her ministry after many decades of service to the church.

The performance was followed by punch and cookies in the Social Hall. We enjoyed our year at PEP School so much and look forward to another year of great experience in the 4 year old class.

At Jake's school each year every class performs a dance at a school wide performance. This year the second graders did a wonderful dance to Purple People Eaters. As you can see it was a sea of purple :D

The kids made their masks and most of the boys wore Sacramento Kings uniforms as that is pretty easy to find in our area!

This is our second year at this school and we love the sense of community they bring with all of the activities. As you can see, it is a big crowd every year. We feel so blessed to be at a school with such wonderful teachers, students and parents!

Sadie Lady

As most of you know, I have wanted a puppy for about two years now! Well, here she is. She is a 4 month old cockapoo and we named her Sadie. She was my Mother's Day present from Andy and the boys. I am putting a cool slide show together that I will post in the next few days, but I didn't want to wait any longer to share some pictures of her. She is such a sweet girl. Not too many accidents in the house and she sleeps really well at night. In fact I put her to bed at the same time as the boys so I can still have some quality time with Ginger, the cat, in the evenings. Ginger is doing OK, but still a little leery of Sadie. I am sure they will be friends some day.

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst’” John 6:35

On May 4Th, Jake received the Sacrament of his first Holy Communion. Over this last year, Jake has been attending Catechism and studying what it means to celebrate the Eucharist. We are so happy for him to share in this promise with us, his family, his parish family as well as the universal church . It was a long process that his father and I are very proud of him for choosing to complete. After mass, there was a gathering of our family and friends at our home. We all had a great time eating, laughing and playing together. Thank you all for helping us to celebrate this special time in Jake's life.
We pray that Jake's relationship with the Lord will continue to flourish.
